Søren Ulrik Petersen (°1961)
Søren Ulrik Petersen was trained as a cabinet maker in the work shop of Hos Wulff’s Møbelsnedkeri in Copenhagen. He completed his apprenticeship in 1985 prior to continuing his education at the Danish Design School. Gaining his degree in Design 1990, Søren Ulrik Petersen returned to teach for a year at the Design School in 1998.
Since opening his own design studio in 1991, SUP Design has completed freelance projects for amongst others: Georg Jensen, Louis Poulsen A/S, Normann Copenhagen and Danishcrafts.dk
Between 2000 and 2002 he completed a three year working scholarship
sponsered by The Danish Arts Foundation.
He takes the classic Danish furniture tradition as his starting point and combines humour and originality with a practical and functional approach.
