Anja Kjaer (°1956)
Anja Kjaer was trained as a ceramicist and glass designer who works in her own workshop as well as for Holmegaard, for whom she has created a number of popular glasses and bowls, since 1989. A sure sense of bold, cheerful colours and classic lines gives that special Anja Kjær touch which means her creations are known and loved far beyond the borders of Denmark.
Her portfolio is extensive and she participated in many international exhibitions. The City of Copenhagen commissioned her to design a glassware range as a gift to the Royal couple on the occasion of their Silver wedding anniversary. The result was the beautiful Royal Silver, which has graced the table at official engagements in the Royal Household ever since.
Anja Kjær’s designs are represented in permanent collections at museums from Denmark to New York City.
