Verner Panton (1926-1998) choose in the 60’s and 70’s for a radically new way of designing. His remarkable designs mirror his optimistic point of view on the future and his playful fantasies.  Panton translated the 60’s pop culture to the people’s interior. He wanted to create powerful and transcendental experiences by using playful shapes, new materials and bright colours. In his temporary installations light was a part of the total experience.

Since 1971 Louis Poulsen still produces the Panthella Lamp, a cult design by Verner Panton. The fixture emits a soft and comfortable illumination. The hemispherical shade reflects the light downwards, and the material used ensures that the majority of the light is spread diffusely in the room from the surface of the shade. The organic shape of the lamp reminds of a illuminated mushroom. The light source is hidden underneath a big white acryl shade while the funnel shaped foot spreads the light.
The Panthella Lamp blends perfectly within his idiom of organic shapes, plastic materials and psychedelic colours. The lamp was originally produced in different colours but the original table lamp as well as the floor lamp currently are only available in timeless white.

The Panthella table lamp is available in 4 sizes: the original table lamp in opal white, the smaller Mini Panthella, produced in different Panton colours and two portable lamps.
