    Cecilie Manz

    Cecilie Manz (°1972)

Cecilie Manz is one of the leading figures of contemporary Danish design.

She belongs to the ‘disciplined’ young generation of Danish furniture and industrial designers. She extends the understanding of the function and aesthetics of design and challenges established concepts of what design is and can do.

"The task or project itself often holds the key to inspiration; ideas don't come from waiting but from leg-work, drafting, trials, etc." A key aspect of Cecilie Manz' work is simplicity - the process of working toward a pure, aesthetic and narrative object.

She founded her own studio in Copenhagen in 1998.

Cecilie Manz works mainly in wood, metal, glass, porcelain and plastic. She designs furniture, glass, lamps and related products.

She has created a range of glass products for Holmegaard. Her range of "Spectra"vases takes innovative styling, transparent colours and simple storage into the realms of modern vase design.
