Per Lütken (1916-1998)
Per Lütken as a skilled decorative painter and for more than 50 years he put his mark on Danish design glass. From 1942 until his death in 1998, he worked at Holmegaard as artistic director and designed more than 3000 glass works. His best-known design, the Provence bowl (1955), demonstrates the way in which Lütken was able to revolutionize traditional glassmaking through pioneering forms. Believing that design should delight our common daily lives, Lütken promoted the traditional simplicity of good Danish design.
